Welcome to Thurton & Ashby St Mary Pre-School

Our aim is to provide a fun, stimulating and safe environment for children aged 2 to 5. Our experienced and qualified staff are committed to offer good, quality care and a well-balanced start to your child`s education in a happy and relaxed play setting.

Our early years curriculum is varied and play-based; it includes craft activities, creative and physical play, stories and books, numbers, multicultural events and music. We have a fenced in garden for our sole use and offer outdoor play every day (weather permitting). We maintain a high staff/child ratio and all staff update their early years training regularly.

The Pre-School is held at Thurton & Ashby St Mary Village Hall on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9am to 11.30am during school terms. We also run a lunch club during the summer term on Thursdays, 11.30am to 12.30pm to benefit the children who will be moving up to school in September.

The Baby and Toddler Group is for all babies and children up to 5 and their parents/carers and meets alternate Thursday afternoons from 1.15pm to 2.45pm.

The Pre-School was established in 1969 by the local District Nurse and interested parents and quickly became popular with families living in the community. Over the years the group became a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and Early Years Support Network. It is now run to strict standards laid down by the Government and Ofsted inspects us regularly. At our recent inspection in September 2006 we received an overall -Good- for care and education.
